GTA 6 Activities & Side Content
Every activity glimpsed in official GTA 6 footage, each labelled seen-but-not-confirmed-playable, plus what Rockstar has genuinely stated.
On this page6 sections
This is the page where most GTA 6 sites quietly stop being accurate. Something appearing for two seconds in a trailer is not a confirmed feature, and Rockstar has published no list of side activities for Grand Theft Auto VI. So every item below carries a label, and the labels are the honest part.
Confirmed by Rockstar
Physical condition changes. Rockstar has stated that exercise builds visible muscle on the protagonists, that food affects their weight, and that things like missed sleep and long police chases show on them. That is the single clearest activity-adjacent confirmation the studio has made, because it only works if there is something you do to cause it.
The world reacts to you. Rockstar has described player actions carrying consequences in the world, giving the example of walking down a street openly carrying a rifle. That is a statement about ambient systems rather than about minigames, but it shapes what free roam is likely to feel like.
Real-world research went into the culture. Rockstar has talked about years of on-location research and about commissioning a large number of real street artists for in-game murals. Again: not an activity, but a strong signal about how dense the world is meant to be.
Named region activities. Rockstar’s Mount Kalaga region copy names prime hunting, prime fishing and off-road trails as things the area offers, and its edition copy points an off-road buggy at the same backwoods. Named is not described: no tools, progression or rewards come with any of them.
That is genuinely the extent of what has been stated in words.
Seen in official footage — not confirmed playable
Rockstar’s extended gameplay video, published in August 2026 and captured in-game on PlayStation 5, is the richest official source. Coverage of it has catalogued a long list of things happening on screen. We list them here as sightings, because we have not frame-verified them ourselves and Rockstar has described none of them as features:
- Basketball — seen, not confirmed playable
- Kayaking and paddling — seen, not confirmed playable
- Scuba or underwater swimming — seen, not confirmed playable
- Fishing — seen, not confirmed playable
- Weight training and bench work — seen, not confirmed playable
- Dirt bike and stock car racing — seen, not confirmed playable
- Target practice — seen, not confirmed playable
- Backyard wrestling — seen, not confirmed playable
- Base jumping — seen, not confirmed playable
- Robbing shops and convenience stores — seen, not confirmed playable
- Working private security at a corporate event — seen, likely a story mission
- Using an in-game phone and scrolling social feeds — seen, not confirmed playable
- Lying on the beach doing nothing in particular — seen, and honestly the most on-brand item here
The distinction matters. In Grand Theft Auto V, some on-screen activities were freely repeatable (tennis, golf, darts), some were mission-gated, and some were pure scenery. Until launch, nobody can tell you which bucket any of the above falls into.
Seen in the trailers
The two trailers add texture rather than mechanics. Both are built partly out of phone-shot vertical clips — people filming stunts, arguments, parties and each other. The beachfront strip footage shows crowds, street performers, traffic and constant low-level chaos. Whether any of that social-media layer is something you can browse in-game, or purely a trailer device, is still unknown and has been since December 2023.
How this compares to earlier Grand Theft Auto games
Grand Theft Auto V shipped with a broad activity set — golf, tennis, darts, yoga, hunting, triathlons, scuba, base jumping, stock car racing — plus a stock market and property. Red Dead Redemption 2 leaned on world simulation instead of arcade minigames.
The footage so far reads more like the GTA V approach, widened. That is an impression, not a claim. Beyond the hunting, fishing and off-road trails named for Mount Kalaga, Rockstar has announced no activity, no property system and no online mode.
Not yet known
- Whether any listed sighting is a repeatable activity or a one-off mission beat.
- Whether there is any progression, skill or reward attached to them.
- Whether property, businesses or the stock market return in any form.
- Whether the in-game social feed is interactive.
- Whether an online component exists at all.
How this site will track it at launch
At launch, every item above gets checked in-game and either promoted to confirmed with a location, or deleted. Activity sites that are findable — courts, gyms, dive spots, race start points — go onto the interactive map, and anything odd or hidden ends up in secrets or Easter eggs. See also vehicles for the racing side and wildlife for the hunting question.
No leaked material was used on this page. Every sighting above is labelled rather than asserted.
Frequently asked questions
What activities are confirmed in GTA 6?
Rockstar has published no activity list. Its Mount Kalaga region copy does name hunting, fishing and off-road trails, and plenty more appears in official gameplay footage — but a name in region copy and an appearance on screen are both short of being confirmed as freely playable.
Is there a gym or working out in GTA 6?
Rockstar has said the protagonists visibly change with exercise and diet, which strongly implies some form of training. It has not described the system.
Can you play basketball in GTA 6?
Basketball has been reported from Rockstar's official gameplay video. We have not frame-verified it, so we list it as seen rather than confirmed.
Is there fishing or diving?
Fishing is named in Rockstar's own Mount Kalaga region copy, and both fishing and diving have been reported from official footage. Neither has had its mechanics described, so both stay on our unconfirmed list.
Will there be an online mode with more activities?
Rockstar has not announced an online component for Grand Theft Auto VI. Anything you read about one is speculation.
