The state of Leonida

Six sides of Leonida

Leonida is the fictional state GTA 6 is set in, with Vice City at its centre. These region pages collect everything we have logged in each area, so you can read a stretch of the map end to end instead of hopping between markers.

All regions

  • Vice City

Leonida's neon metropolis: Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the VC Port and the nightlife at the centre of the GTA 6 story.

Leonida's wetland interior, officially described by Rockstar as a primordial expanse where gators are only the most famous danger.

Reading Leonida region by region

Rockstar Games has described Grand Theft Auto VI as returning to Vice City and the wider state around it, and the official trailers show far more than a single skyline: beaches and high-rises, but also wetlands, inland farm country, a working port, small highway towns and stretches of forested high ground. Treating all of that as "the map" flattens it. Splitting it into regions is how you actually learn a place.

We track six areas. Vice City is the urban core and the one most people picture first. The Leonida Keys run south of it as a chain of sandbars and shallow water. Grassrivers covers the wetlands and channels inland from the coast. Port Gellhorn is the industrial waterfront, with the motel rows and dock infrastructure that come with it. Ambrosia is the farm country and two-lane highway belt. Mount Kalaga is the elevated, forested end of the state. Each has its own page collecting every entry we have logged there, grouped by category, alongside a written overview and the sources behind it.

A word on accuracy, because it matters more here than anywhere else on the site. Rockstar has not published a map of Leonida, so the geography you see on ourinteractive map is an original placeholder illustration drawn for this project. Region boundaries and marker positions show relationships — what sits near what, which category clusters where — not real in-game coordinates. The names and the broad character of each area come from officially released material; the pixels do not.

Once the game ships, the base map is replaced with a properly surveyed one and every coordinate is re-checked against the real world. Region pages will keep their structure through that change, which is exactly why they exist now. Until then, each page tells you plainly which parts are observation and which are our reading, and carries a visible updated date so you can see how recently we looked.
