Secrets are the parts of a Grand Theft Auto world the game never tells you about: a locked building that opens under the right conditions, a stretch of swamp with something at the end of it, a mechanic that only reveals itself if you break the intended route. In GTA 5 those were the things people argued about for years. This hub is where we track the GTA 6 equivalents.

Right now that tracking is necessarily cautious. The game is unreleased, so a "secret" here means something visible in officially published Rockstar footage that looks deliberately placed and unexplained — a structure with no obvious purpose, an interior shown for a single frame, a detail the trailers keep returning to. We describe exactly what is on screen, then say plainly which part is our reading of it.

Every entry carries one of four status labels and a source line, so you can tell a confirmed detail from an educated guess without reading our minds. Nothing on this page comes from leaks, datamined files or second-hand claims, and anything that turns out to be wrong after launch gets corrected in place with a fresh updated date.

    Cal Hampton's Radio Setup

Rockstar states that Jason's paranoid friend Cal Hampton monitors Coast Guard communications from home, in a region built on smuggling.

How a secret gets verified before publication

A secret has to clear three checks before it appears here. First, it must be visible in material Rockstar Games published itself — a trailer, an official screenshot or the Grand Theft Auto VI website. Second, we have to be able to describe it in plain language without leaning on interpretation: what is on screen, where in the frame, in which piece of official material. Third, somebody has to argue against it. If the "secret" is adequately explained by ordinary world-building, it does not get a page.

What survives is written in two clearly separated halves. The observation comes first and stays literal. Our reading comes second and is labelled as ours. That split is the whole method, and it is why several entries here read as less exciting than the same detail does elsewhere — we are not filling the gap between what is shown and what would be fun to believe.

The 2022 material, datamined files and insider claims are excluded outright. They are not ours to republish, they cannot be checked by a reader, and building on them would quietly poison every page that links to this one.

What the status labels mean on this hub

Confirmed is reserved for things Rockstar has shown or stated outright. Before launch that almost never applies to a secret, because a secret is by definition something the publisher has not explained.

Trailer sighting means the thing exists in official footage and our description of what it might do is interpretation. Speculation means the connection is entirely ours, drawn only from official material. Rumor is used for widely circulated claims that we think a reader is better off seeing addressed honestly than left to find elsewhere — and it never appears without the known facts next to it.

What the series has hidden before

Rockstar has spent two decades teaching players that its maps reward poking at the edges. San Andreas produced years of Bigfoot hunting in its northern woods — a myth the series itself later leaned into. Grand Theft Auto V hid a mural on Mount Chiliad that fans dissected frame by frame, a ghost that appears on a mountainside at a specific time of night, and the Epsilon Program, a sprawling deadpan parody of fringe belief that most players never finish.

The useful lesson is not any single secret; it is the shape of them. They tend to sit at the map's margins rather than in the city centre, they tend to need a condition — time of day, weather, progress, a particular vehicle — and they tend to be pointed at earlier by something innocuous. That is the pattern worth watching for in the wetlands, the keys and the high ground of Leonida.

None of this is evidence about Grand Theft Auto VI, and we do not present it as such. It is context for reading the trailers with your eyes open.

What to expect at launch

This hub stays deliberately thin until the map is explorable. A handful of unexplained shapes in official footage is not a secrets database, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.

After launch the bar moves in a good way: the source can be the game itself. Entries will gain reproducible conditions — where to stand, when, and what has to be true — and each one will be pinned on the interactive map alongside the Easter eggs and collectibles.

How we label entries

Status:Confirmed
Shown or stated in official Rockstar material.
Status:Trailer sighting
Visible in an official trailer or screenshot; details are our interpretation.
Status:Rumor
Unverified. Treat with caution.
Status:Speculation
Our own educated guess based only on official material.

Frequently asked questions

Are there confirmed secrets in GTA 6 already?

Nothing can be confirmed by play yet, because Grand Theft Auto VI has not been released. What we can do is log details that appear in Rockstar's own published material and mark them honestly — confirmed only when Rockstar has stated or shown something outright, otherwise as a trailer sighting or speculation.

What counts as a secret rather than a landmark?

A landmark is a place you can point at and name. A secret is something that appears to hide a behaviour, a route or a payoff — an unexplained structure, a sealed interior, a repeated visual hint. If an entry is simply a notable building, we file it as a landmark instead so this hub stays useful.

Will you cover myths and rumours like Bigfoot?

Only with a rumour label and a source, never as fact. Grand Theft Auto has a long history of community myths, and plenty of them turned out to be nothing. We would rather carry a short honest list than a long exciting one.

When does the real hunt start?

When players can roam the map themselves after launch — the date currently listed on this site is November 19, 2026. From that point this hub becomes a live log, and the interactive map turns from a placeholder illustration into a proper surveyed map.

How do I follow updates?

Every new or revised entry appears in our RSS feed and shows a visible updated date on the page. There are no accounts, no newsletter signup and no cookies — the feed is the whole subscription system.

Why do some entries here look less exciting than elsewhere?

Because we stop where the evidence stops. A lot of pre-release coverage fills the gap between what a trailer shows and what would be thrilling if true. We separate the two on the page, which makes for a duller read and a more durable one.
