The jokes, details and oddities visible in official GTA 6 footage and screenshots — with honest labels on what is a sighting and what is a guess.

Key facts
- No confirmed Easter eggs exist. Nothing is reproducible before a game ships, so every honest entry today is a sighting, not a finding.
- Official material is now more than two trailers. Rockstar’s site carries captioned screenshots for all six regions, and an extended look released in August 2026.
- The alligator indoors is the signature gag of Trailer 1 and the reason everyone expects wildlife to wander.
- Rockstar has promised weirdness in writing, telling readers there are stranger discoveries among the Grassrivers mangroves and that the Mount Kalaga backwoods hold mystics and paranoid radicals.
- No Bigfoot, ghost, UFO, wreck or shrine has any official support.
- We cite no timestamps, because we have not verified any, and we use no leaked or datamined material at all.
Grand Theft Auto games hide things. That is half the reason people build map sites. But Grand Theft Auto VI is not out yet, which means every Easter egg anyone can honestly write about right now is something visible in officially released material — not something found in the game, because nobody has found anything in the game.
This guide sticks to that line. Everything below comes from the official trailers, the extended look, Rockstar’s captioned screenshots or the official site. We do not use the 2022 leak, we do not repeat community mapping claims as fact, and we have not invented a single Easter egg. Where we are interpreting, we say so.
Why “Easter egg” means something different before launch
An Easter egg in a shipped game is reproducible: you go to a place, do a thing, and something happens. Before launch, the same word gets used for three very different things:
- A detail visible in official material that is clearly deliberate.
- A plausible inference from such a detail.
- Something made up to fill an article.
Only the first is worth your time, and this site publishes only the first two, labelled. Our Easter eggs hub carries a status badge on every entry for exactly this reason, and the location index shows those badges side by side.
The big one: the alligator indoors
The first official trailer’s most repeated image is an alligator wandering the aisles of a shop while somebody films it on a phone. It is funny, it is a news-parody gag, and it is doing real work: it tells you wildlife in this world is not fenced into a nature zone.
What we can say: it is in official footage. What we cannot say: where it is, what the shop is called, or whether anything like it can be triggered in play. Our entry — The Alligator in the Store — is filed as a trailer sighting and assigned to Grassrivers purely because that is the officially named wetland region.
Rockstar’s later material makes the joke look load-bearing rather than incidental. The official Grassrivers description names gators as the region’s most famous attraction. Official screenshots show them ringing an airboat and swimming through a police pursuit. And the studio’s edition material describes a merchandise line themed on a Leonida TV character who is a gator — so the animal is part of the state’s self-image as well as its ecology. See wildlife.
The phone-clip layer
The reveal trailer is cut around vertical phone videos filmed by people inside the world: arrests, crowds, roadside chaos, animals, people narrating their own bad decisions. It is the densest concentration of jokes Rockstar has shown, and structurally it remains the most interesting thing in either trailer.
Two open questions Rockstar has not answered. Is this a playable or browsable in-game system, or a trailer device? And does the in-game internet return as a real feature? We do not know and we have not pretended to. See In-Universe Phone Clips, and our Trailer 1 breakdown.
Two pieces of official text sit alongside it. Rockstar’s bio for Cal Hampton describes him at home with beers and private browser tabs, monitoring Coast Guard communications. Its bio for Real Dimez describes a duo who turned a relentless social media presence into money. Two of eight profiled characters are defined by what they do online, which is a stronger signal than any single clip.
Details worth noticing in official material
These are observations, not secrets. All are visible in official trailers or described in Rockstar’s own screenshot captions.
- Crowd individuality. One official beach caption lists a sunbather, men walking past, a couple holding hands, a jogger, someone on a phone and two men throwing a football — six behaviours in one frame, described by the studio itself.
- Bystanders as satire. An official Vice City caption describes an arrest where one onlooker takes a selfie and another poses on the patrol car.
- Four kinds of water. Open sea, reef with coral and a sea turtle, pale shallow flats and dark swamp channel, each shot and lit differently. See Keys Sandbar Boat Raft-Up and Grassrivers Airboat Channels.
- Predators that ignore you. An official Mount Kalaga caption describes a cougar stalking deer at a stream, with no human in frame at all.
- Decay given equal detail. Motel signage, empty lots and worn strip malls get the same care as the skyline. See Port Gellhorn Motel Row.
- Industry as landscape. An Ambrosia caption describes a night skyline made of smoke stacks; another, a crop field burning at sunset.
- Weather as a character. The same places appear in hard sun, storm light and at night.
The two lines where Rockstar promises weirdness
This is new, and it is the closest official material comes to teasing secrets.
In the Grassrivers description, Rockstar states that the gators are the famous attraction but that there are deadlier predators and stranger discoveries among the mangroves. In the Mount Kalaga description, it describes backwoods where mystics and paranoid radicals live out of the government’s sight.
Neither line names anything. Both are the kind of sentence a studio writes when something is there. We are not going to turn them into a list — the one open guess we allow ourselves is Mount Kalaga High Lookout, stamped as speculation precisely so nobody mistakes it for a finding. Everything else goes to the secrets hub only when it can be found.
Named things you can actually rely on
Officially named in-world entities remain rare, and that rarity is useful — it means the short list is trustworthy. Only Raw Records, Dre’Quan Priest’s label. Boobie Ike’s Vice City holdings, including a strip club and a studio. Brian Heder’s boat yard in the Keys. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery in Ambrosia. And Cal Hampton’s Coast Guard scanner, which remains the most mechanically suggestive throwaway line on Rockstar’s whole site.
How this compares with previous games
Restricted to well-known facts. Rockstar’s reputation for hidden content rests largely on GTA 5, which shipped in 2013 and whose oddities were found by players over years rather than announced. That is the pattern worth remembering: in the previous game the studio said almost nothing in advance, and the interesting discoveries arrived after release from people combing the map. There is no reason to expect a different shape here, which is precisely why a pre-launch list of “confirmed” secrets should make you suspicious. For the wider confirmed picture, see everything confirmed so far and map size vs GTA 5.
What we are not telling you
There is no confirmed Bigfoot analogue. No confirmed ghost, UFO, mural, sunken wreck or hidden shrine. No confirmed list of returning characters beyond what Rockstar has published. If a site gives you specifics on any of that right now, it is either guessing or working from leaked material — and leaked material is exactly what this site refuses to touch, for legal reasons and for accuracy ones.
After launch
This guide becomes a completely different document on day one, when trailer-watching turns into actual hunting. Until then, the useful thing we can do is keep the confirmed list short and honest.
Start exploring with the interactive map, the location index, the secrets hub or the collectibles hub. For the footage see trailers and our Trailer 2 breakdown; for timing see the release date page; for hardware see platforms; and for quick answers the FAQ. A reminder that applies to every pin: our base map is an original illustration, so positions are approximate placeholders until the real thing exists.
Frequently asked questions
Are there confirmed Easter eggs in GTA 6 yet?
No, and there cannot be. An Easter egg is something reproducible in a shipped game. Before launch the honest version is a detail visible in official material, which is what this guide collects.
What is the most famous trailer detail?
The alligator wandering a shop's aisles in Trailer 1. It is genuinely in the official footage, it is a parody of a recurring real news story, and Rockstar's later region copy names gators as Grassrivers' most famous attraction.
Is there a Bigfoot, ghost or UFO in GTA 6?
Nothing official supports any of them. Rockstar's Grassrivers copy does promise weirder discoveries among the mangroves and its Mount Kalaga copy mentions backwoods mystics, but neither statement describes a specific secret.
Why do you not give trailer timestamps?
Because we have not verified any. Citing a timestamp we have not checked is how a small error becomes a widely repeated one, so we cite the trailer and leave it there.
Will this guide change at launch?
Completely. On day one, trailer-watching becomes actual hunting, and every entry here either becomes a real finding with a real location or gets retired.
