One of the most distinctive images in Rockstar’s official Leonida Keys material is a cluster of boats tied together over shallow water with people in and out of the sea around them. It is a real thing that happens on real flats, and it is exactly the kind of ambient destination Rockstar builds worlds around: a place with no building, no entrance and no door that still functions as somewhere to go.
What official material shows
Rockstar’s own caption for the scene describes a gathering of people partying and drinking on boats in the water, a man lying on an inflatable flamingo, jet skis running in the background and others sunbathing on deck. The studio’s region copy for the Keys sets the same tone from a different angle: casual dress, well-stocked bars, and an easy rather than flashy way of life, with a warning attached about the water beyond. Other official Keys captions add scuba divers among coral and a sea turtle, a seaplane over a bridge between two islands, and a beach bar where somebody has already given up for the day.
Those are observations. Our read: the Keys are being designed so that the reason to travel is the atmosphere rather than the objective, which is a different design brief from anything in the city.
Why it matters for gameplay
Expectation, not confirmation.
Gatherings like this only work if the supporting systems are there: a boat model that is genuinely enjoyable to drive, some form of anchoring or mooring, and swimming that is more than a drowning timer. Rockstar has commented on none of that. What we can point at is the surrounding evidence — an official boat with fishing described alongside it, a kayak parked at Jason’s safehouse, divers underwater and jet skis in the background of this very image. Taken together that is a broad water vehicle spread and a real case for water-based activities. It is still inference.
Connections
This entry is the social face of the Leonida Keys, the counterpart to the region’s working side at Brian Heder’s boat yard. The footage appears in official trailer material covered in our Trailer 2 breakdown, and it is one of the three distinct water types we flag in Easter eggs spotted in the trailers.
How to find it at launch
Honestly: this one may not be a fixed location at all. A raft-up is a thing people do at a spot, and the spot may be an unmarked stretch of shallow water rather than a named point of interest. Our pin sits west of the Keys region centre on our own illustrated base map and is an approximate placeholder. At launch we will either re-pin it to a real sandbar with a real name, or rewrite this entry as a page about a recurring ambient event — whichever turns out to be true.
Status & evidence
Marked trailer sighting. The scene is unambiguously in official material, but the name on this page is ours, Rockstar has not said which part of the island chain it belongs to, and no sandbar has been named. We assign it to the Keys because the water colour, depth and island silhouettes match the region Rockstar describes — an inference, clearly labelled. No leaked material was used and no timestamps are cited.

Frequently asked questions
Is this gathering in official material or only in a trailer?
Both. Rockstar's own screenshot caption for the Leonida Keys describes people partying and drinking on boats, a man on an inflatable flamingo, jet skis in the background and others sunbathing on deck. Similar footage appears in the official trailers.
Has Rockstar named the sandbar?
No. No sandbar, flat or anchorage in the Keys has been named, and no official caption gives this gathering a place name. The title on this page is ours.
Are jet skis confirmed?
Jet skis appear in Rockstar's own caption for this scene, so they exist in the world. Rockstar has not separately confirmed them as a player-driveable class or described how water vehicles handle.
